The Fallas festivity has successfully preserved and even recovered the use of traditional Valencian dress for this celebration, and costumes are now an important part of the Fallas rituals. At all official acts, Falleros and Falleras don their finery, which is reminiscent of the clothing worn by Valencians in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Thanks to the Fallas festivity, these traditional costumes have been preserved and updated (especially in recent decades), helping to recover the handcrafted textile trade, hairstyles, headdresses and accessories, in a wide variety of colours and shapes that exemplify the finesse of traditional Valencian clothing.

Both male and female costumes date back to the days of Valencian agriculture and the local nobility, and all this can be seen on the streets on the major days of the festivity at all official ceremonies.
